Let’s face it: most of us have to carry our long guns on a hunt or even to the range. And most of us do not have access to a team of porters to carry them for us.  Therefore, to make carrying a long gun more comfortable, and to make it easier to bring said gun into deployment should we be hunting in a setting where rapid access to our rifle is necessary, we need slings.
